With Christmas just days away the anticipation and build up is hardly containable. At least for some and especially for children. Can you remember how you felt as a child waiting for the day to arrive when you could finally open your presents? That is how the energy of gratitude works. As we start to appreciate all that we have, we become conscious of all that is possible. Being grateful for the presents under the tree and anticipating the day we can open them.
Live your life today as if it is filled with abundance, because it is. That might not mean that your bank account has grown overnight or the employer of your dreams has just left you a voicemail. Because you're not ready. Oh, I can hear you muttering that you think you are, but apparently there are a few more lessons to learn before Christmas arrives. So live in anticipation of the day when you can open all your presents. Prepare yourself now for being grateful and noticing just how much you really do have.
What I am grateful for today:
I am grateful for the laughter of children. Whether it's playing peek-a-boo with a baby while waiting in line to check out, or hearing their glee and giggles without being included, that joyous melody is a gift.
I am grateful for the excitement that I feel from others. I love to hear about the gits they've purchased, the dinners they'll be creating and the trees they've decorated. Thank you for sharing.
I am grateful to hear Christmas carols as I shop. I can hardly contain myself from singing along out loud. The best is coming across a good whistler who can carry the notes down the aisles.
I am grateful for this time of year as people in general just seem kinder and more accepting. A big thank you to all the strangers who have smiled at me and made me feel loved in that moment. Think of how you might impact someone doing the same...
I am grateful for the internet guy who came out to install the satellite yesterday. Even though it took almost 5 hours, he kept at it until he was successful.
I am grateful for the gingerbread house competition that we traditionally engage in on Christmas Eve. Even though I always come in last, it is a spirited event and incredibly fun!
I am grateful to my sister Cyndee who has traveled to Sacramento to sit with our mom as she has cataract surgery today. I know my mom is blessed to have her family around her as she starts to see life more clearly.
I am grateful for the clients I am accumulating and the help I can offer them. Their results will prompt the delivery of dollars into my mailbox.
I am grateful to my daughter Sarra who will clean the house today in preparation for family visits. I really enjoy the tidiness that her efforts provide.
I am grateful to hear the rotors of a helicopter overhead. This means activity at Camp Pendleton and reminds me of the sacrifice these soldiers make everyday.
Look around and take note of what you are grateful for today. Share it in the comment section below. Find a soldier at www.anysoldier.com and thank them for their contribution.
