Getting a late start this morning as I didn't have internet access until just a little bit ago. I'm in a rural setting, so we don't have the luxury of cable and dsl. I have had to rely on dial up and AOL. Didn't even have a dial tone this morning, so maybe there was water in the line from all the rain we've had. Who knows? It works now.
What I am grateful for today:
I am grateful because I have a dial tone in my office which means I can share this message with others. We have really come to rely on all this modern technology haven't we?
I am grateful that I will be setting up a skype account with a camera later today. I guess that means I have to get dressed. Well, at least from the waist up... Thank you Kevin!
I am grateful that I was invited over to decorate a friend's Christmas tree. What a fun tradition! Even more so when unwrapping someone else's ornaments and discovering the story behind them. Thank you Nancy and Lance!
I am grateful that my sister Cyndee and her boyfriend Walt, were able to control their truck when it started sliding on a bridge last night as they traveled in a storm. Thank you God, for protecting them and keeping them safe!
I am grateful for the changes I see in others as they start listing their own reasons to be thankful. What we project we reflect!
I am grateful for all the stories I hear on the news about toy drives, blankets for the homeless, coats for kids, and all the ways our hearts reach out to those in need. I passed a guy in the rain holding a sign yesterday and shrugged helplessly as I had no cash. He lifted me up by telling me it was okay and to have a good day.
I am grateful because I know so many of you have a loved one in the military and we are fortunate to have them serving our country. I bow my head and ask for their protection and safe return if they're in a hostile environment.
I am grateful for the prayers of many as we are starting to see financial opportunities transpire. Thank you for giving me courage and kindness.
I am grateful that the ground is wet and nourished. The sky is full of clouds with bits of blue fighting for dominance. What an artistic representation of dark omnipotence and light skies moving across the landscape.
I am grateful to be sitting here, warm, dry, safe, loved and protected. Thank you again Corporal Arxer; for sleeping in a fox hole, eating from an MRE and keeping terrorists from slinking across our borders.
